Regulation Easy Guide

One result of consumers’ increasing environmental awareness is the proliferation of environmental labels and certificates available for finished products, which play an increasingly important role in consumer purchasing decisions. The Regulation Easy Guide tells customers which regulatory and certification standards are existing so far and to which extent the various Cognis ingredients comply with selected certifications – supporting formulators to design products that meet the requirements necessary to obtain the desired official labels or certificates.

Certificates and Ecolabels

Currently more than 110 products from Care Chemicals’ extensive product portfolio comply with the Ecocert standards, including two products from Laboratoires Sérobiologiques that have been certified as compliant with the organic standard. In addition, more than 35 products are approved by the BDIH, meeting the even tougher prerequisites for German certification. Approximately 20 Cognis raw materials match up with the European Ecoflower reference list (DID list) for use in the formulation of home care products. Several Care Chemicals products are listed on the US CleanGredient data base for the use in DfE certified I&I formulations.
